The Provincial Government of LDS held its Provincial Peace and Order Council Meeting (PPOC) early today, July 30, 2018, at Social Hall New Capitol Complex, Marawi City. Invitees who were in attendance include some important dignitaries, all the local chief executives in Lanao del Sur, PNP, the Military and representatives from the different line agencies, NGOs and stakeholders.
In this meeting, important agenda were discussed. For instance, the updates from PNP and other agencies.
One of the subjects that were underscored in the discussion was the ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG CAMPAIGN of the present administration where nine (9) municipalities which were able to conduct DRUG CLEARING OPERATIONS were identified. This included of course the Municipality of TARAKA whose LGU spearheaded by Mayor Nashiba Gandamra-Sumagayan takes every possible measure to support this campaign and the present administration’s aim to achieve a healthy and progressing society. In its fight to eradicate ILLEGAL DRUG USE, the LGU of Taraka is accompanied by its partners who share the same objectives. These include the PNP, Military Force, Barangay Chairmen and other sectors in the municipality.
Meanwhile, other issues and concerns that are recently drawing up attention from the public and the national government were also addressed in the PPOC Meeting. Though they are not completely resolved, the authorities are currently trying their best to come up with the best strategies they can employ to counteract these problems.
