Yesterday, Sept. 7, Mayor Nashiba Gandamra-Sumagayan took her flight to Davao right after the Education Summit at Manila to represent TARAKA, the Hall of Famer from Lanao del Sur at a summit organized by the Department of Health. This summit was held at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.
Present in this event were the honorable mayor of Davao, Mayor Sara Duterte together with the other officials from DOH and World Health Organization. Other LCEs whose LGUs were recipients of the Red Orchid Award and/or Hall of Famers were also in attendance.
This summit was organised to strengthen and develop policies that would protect the public against well-established risks to human and environmental health. Smoke-free policies were of course central to the objectives of this summit. All the Red Orchid Awardees and Hall of Famers were asked to present their AVPs (Audio Visual Presentations) which would reflect their best practices to maintain their smoke-free localities.
