Mayor Hon. Atty. Amenodin U. Sumagayan convened the MPOC and MADAC for a Joint Meeting on July 27, 2022.

The meeting was attended by the members of the two councils, 1LT. Mark Joseph Rante of 55IB (INF) PA, PLTCOL Ariel Narboada (Deputy Provincial Director for Operation), different line agencies, SB members, Department Heads and Employees of LGU Taraka. Unexpectedly, Atty. Fahmie Otical (Chief RIU NAPOLCOM BARMM, Provincial Officer LDS) joined the council in the meeting.

Here are some of the highlights of the meeting:

40 drug cleared/free barangays

High functionality of MPOC and MADAC

Official announcement of the creation/establishment of Peace and Order Safety Office (POSO)which will serve as an umbrella office of different departments pertaining to crimes, disaster, fire, traffic.

Atty. Fahmie Otical gave an overview of their role in ensuring a good relation of the LGU, the PNP and the constituents.

Before the adjournment of the meeting, Chairman of the council laid one of his plans e.i to have a program on “Bisita sa Barangay” (not the final and official name of the program) where barangays will be clustered and will be visited by no less than the Mayor himself, Vice Mayor, SB Members, line agencies, PNP and AFP. The “Bisita sa Barangay” is aimed at discussing issues, concerns and problems of the constituents in Barangay.
