The 3^rd Cavalry Squadron, MID, PA, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the National Bookstore, in coordination with the 65IB, 9ID, PA, jointly conducted a series of distribution of school supplies under the “Project Shoebox” to pupils’ beneficiaries on November 25, 2013.

The Project Shoebox is the distribution of school supplies to pupils in selected municipalities and cities.

In Taraka, the symbolic distribution of school supplies to two recipient schools under the municipality (Dimayon Elementary School and Moriato Balindong Elementary School) were distributed by: LTC Leonidas L. Hidalgo CAV (GSC) PA who is the Squadron Commander of 3CAV, MID, PA; and Cpt. Rommel M. Montemayor, Troop Commander, 3CAV, MID, PA. They were assisted by the Municipal Mayor Prof. Nashiba Gandamra – Sumagayan – who together with the school heads as well as community leaders and parents in the schools who received the project expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the officers and men of the 3^rd Cavalry Squadron, MID, PA, National Bookstore and Department of Education of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DepEd-ARMM) for their concern and efforts in helping their school children.
