July 21–Members of the MDRRMC and MESWMB are convened by its chairman, Municipal Mayor Atty. Amenodin U. Sumagayan for a joint meeting this afternoon. This is attended by the vice chairman of the MESWMB, Vice Mayor Nashiba U. Gandamra-Sumagayan.
Agenda of the meeting include the updates of the council members, updates on the previous recorded disasters in the municipality, and other concerns related with solid waste and disaster management. This is presented by MDRRMO Abdul Hasim C. Badron (Abdul DC Mwah) where he likewise presented the current LGU programs related with environment protection and the LGU Updated DRRM Plan.
Mayor Sumagayan also took this opportunity to integrate the Peace and Order and Safety Office to the LGU programs related with emergency responses. Accordingly, this will serve as the incident command center of the LGU which is expected to make the communication between the three response units of the LGU, the Bfp Barmm Taraka FireStation, Taraka MPS Page, and Mdrrmo Taraka.
This office will also manage the CCTVs installed in the main junctions as well as the 24/7 monitoring of the LGU situation.
As for the Ecological Solid Waste Management, topics discussed include the SWM Plan of the LGU and the activities contained therein. For instance, the waste collection schedules, Clean-up Drive, Waste Recycling with the Youth, Cash-for-work programs and updates on the MRFs and temporary Dumpsite.
Other line agency representatives and those from other community sectors likewise have raised their concerns regarding the agenda being discussed in the meeting.
