Mayor Hon. Atty. Amenodin U. Sumagayan, his better half, Vice Mayor Hon. Nashiba Gandamra-Sumagayan, the Department Heads and other line agencies led the preparation and presentation of documents and on-site validation of LGU facilities, buildings and structures.
To be able to finally bring home the seal, LGUs need to pass all 10 governance areas, to which: Financial Administration and Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Safety, Peace and Order; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and Youth Development.
Evaluators from Region 12, headed by Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, Lailyn A. Ortiz, CESO V (Assistant Regional Director), Noraisa Datusavira (LGOO VI) and John Leo S, Licayan, CPA, LGOO V thoroughly evaluated the documents and the on-site validation of LGU Facilities, buildings and structures to support the SGLG requirements and criteria. The team was accompanied by MILG BARMM and Provincial Director of Lanao del Sur, PD McMillan Lucman with his LGOO team.
SGLG is the highest recognition and the most prestigious award given by the DILG to excellent and performing LGUs in the delivery if public service through compliance to pertinent national laws and guidelines.
Taraka is an SGLG awardee for the year 2018 and 2019 and aims to pass the national assessment this year.
